  |     |   Lifestyle, Small Business Spotlight

Chicago is home to some of the best taco joints and most sippable margaritas in the Midwest. And with Cinco de Mayo coming up on Saturday, May 5 we have your guide to the best spots to celebrate right here in Evanston.

La Princpal, 700 Main Street

There’s always something new and interesting to sample at La Principal, a local taco joint known for its colorful decor and Mexican street food. Try one of their wide variety of tacos, which are served a la carte, offering you the chance to create a truly unique dining experience.

Taco Diablo, 1026 Davis Street

Their mission at Taco Diablo is simple: to embrace Mexican cuisine that’s rooted in authentic Mexican cooking techniques. That makes them a great place to check out on Cinco de Mayo! Sample from a tempting list of cocktails and enjoy hand-crafted moles, fresh made salsas and some of the best margaritas in the Midwest.

Chicago Party Boat, DuSable Harbor on the south side of the Chicago River at Lake Shore Drive

One of many things to love about Evanston is its local feel while still within a reasonable distance from downtown Chicago.

Just outside Evanston, hop on a luxury yacht for a cruise on the Chicago River and Lake Michigan with the Cinco de Mayo Booze Cruise.

The two-story yacht includes a dance floor and top deck, with plenty of views of the Chicago skyline. Tickets include a live DJ, dancing, and giveaways. Boarding will begin at 1 p.m. for the cruise, which runs from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 5.
